ST. PAUL, Minn., August 29, 2024 – The AgriBank District Farm Credit Council (ADFCC) has recognized U.S. Rep. Brad Finstad of Minnesota with its 2024 Friend of Farm Credit Award. Finstad, a member of the U.S. House Agriculture Committee, received the award for his efforts on behalf of American agriculture and rural communities.
“We thank Congressman Finstad for the critical leadership he is providing to preserve and support the well-being of agriculture and rural communities across the country,” said Dan Erickson, a farmer from Alden, Minn., and a Compeer Financial board representative on the ADFCC. “His active role as a member of the House Agriculture Committee and the close connection he has to agriculture make him a leading voice for farmers, ranchers, and rural America. The strong support he has demonstrated for the Farm Credit mission and investments that support healthy rural communities, particularly as a lead sponsor of the Farm Credit Independent Authority Act, and Producer and Agricultural Credit Enhancement Act, and as a co-sponsor of the Investing in Rural America Act, makes him stand out amongst his peers. We are honored to celebrate him as an AgriBank District Farm Credit Council Friend of Farm Credit and a friend of rural America.”
“In Congress, one of my top priorities is to ensure that our farmers have the tools they need to continue to feed and fuel the world,” Finstad said. “Today, farmers are facing unprecedented challenges such as increased input costs, decreased farm incomes, and declining commodity prices, which is why access to dependable credit is key for the success of their operations. I am honored to receive the 2024 Friend of Farm Credit Award, and I look forward to continuing to support farmers in southern Minnesota.”
Compeer Financial is one of the local Farm Credit Associations that comprise the AgriBank District along with AgriBank. The ADFCC represents Farm Credit farmers and ranchers in a 15-state area from Wyoming to Ohio and Minnesota to Arkansas. About half the nation’s cropland is located within the AgriBank District.
